The Pocket Flower Press is made from 6 mm maple veneered sustainably sourced board, printed with Studio Wald’s striking Silhouette artwork. Each press is laser cut and printed in England, then compiled in their Leeds studio, so you are supporting thoughtful British design every time you press a find between its boards. The smooth wooden surface feels lovely in the hand and is sturdy enough for regular use, whether you are pressing wildflowers from a weekend walk or favourite blooms from your own garden.
Inside, you will find 5 sheets of corrugated card and 8 sheets of sugar paper, providing plenty of space to press a whole little collection of flowers and foliage. The layers help to absorb moisture and allow air to circulate, giving better results and helping your flowers to dry flat and vibrant. Simply arrange your petals and leaves between the sugar paper sheets, sandwich with the corrugated card, then close the boards.
Instead of traditional metal bolts, Studio Wald use silicone rubber bands that wrap around the press to hold everything snugly in place. They are easier to use when you are out in the field, and the silicone helps avoid loss of elasticity over time.
