RHS Calabrese Marathon F1 Seeds are a trusted choice for gardeners looking for a reliable and productive summer broccoli crop. This high performing F1 hybrid produces dense, well formed heads with excellent flavour, making it ideal for both home growers and allotment gardeners who want consistent results across the growing season.
Known for its strong resistance to disease and adaptability to a wide range of soil types, Marathon F1 is particularly valued for its ability to deliver dependable harvests even in less than perfect growing conditions. Once the central head is harvested, the plant continues to produce smaller, tender side shoots, extending your harvest window and providing ongoing fresh produce from a single sowing.
This variety has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, recognising its outstanding performance, reliability and ease of growth. Whether you are growing in a traditional garden bed, allotment plot or raised bed, this calabrese variety offers a simple and rewarding growing experience.
Sow indoors from February to June in trays of seed compost, lightly covering the seeds and keeping them moist. Seedlings typically appear within 7 to 21 days. Once established, transplant into well prepared soil, allowing enough space for strong development. With the right care, you can expect harvests from June through to November, making it a staple for summer and early autumn cropping.
If you are looking for a broccoli variety that combines strong yields, great taste and proven reliability, RHS Calabrese Marathon F1 is an excellent addition to your growing plans.
